The folders are finished; they demonstrate an impressive array of interests and ideas, and some wonderful responses to the assignment given. Students were asked to create an image using colored pencil, marker, texture plates, stencils and freehand drawing. The image had to provide a rich visual experience, and allow the viewer to learn something about the student. Please look at the Art Gallery for the results.
Students are now working on designing the pages of their origami name books, exploring the visual language of design, specifically principles of pattern, rhythm, emphasis and contrast.
During the week of October 21-225, student will bring home a permission form for the Junior Class Field Trip to the Whitney Museum of American Art. Please fill it out and send it back to school as soon as possible.
